SharkPrint FAQ

How do I request a service call or order supplies?

Note: This is also the procedure for requesting a student or public user (generic user a group uses) to print to printers.

Please submit a SharkPrint request using the ServiceNow ticket system:

  • Select Request a Service option
  • Select SharkPrint from the Categories
  • Select Technology issue for devices not working, or
  • Select Request a Service for supplies, relocation, configuration, or removal

Provide the following details:

  1. Equipment ID# (9-digit number on the white label on the front of the device)

  2. Brief explanation of the support required:

    • Supplies (e.g., toner, waste box, staples)

    • Issue explanation for service needed

    • Equipment moves required

    • Training requests (e.g., faxing, bypass tray)

  3. Contact information

How do I set up a proxy?

We understand that there are University leaders who may wish to grant permission for others in their department to release jobs on their behalf. To establish this arrangement, kindly submit a Service ticket to OIIT on behalf of the individual seeking to grant access. Please include the name and email address of the person who will be authorized to release their jobs.

How do I set up RightFax?

As the University transitions to electronic faxing, anyone currently using a physical fax line should submit a ticket to OIIT to facilitate the transfer during copier upgrades.

  • All users can send outbound faxes, but only authorized staff and faculty will have a dedicated email folder for inbound faxes.
  • When submitting a ticket, include:
    • Fax number currently in use
    • Contact information for authorized staff/faculty who should receive inbound faxes
Note: Once new SHARP copiers are installed, physical fax lines will no longer function until RightFax is set up.

How can I acquire a new Shark Card or renew an existing one?

As NSU transitions to a secure print solution requiring authentication, your Shark Card is essential.

  • Local Employees: Visit the main card office located in the Don Taft University Center Arena, first floor. Open Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–6:00 p.m.
  • Non-Local Employees: Request a Shark Card online by click here. During the process, you will upload a photo (requirements provided on the site). Once approved, your card will be mailed to the address provided. Ensure your complete address (including apartment number, if applicable) is included to avoid delays.

If your Shark Card is older than 8 years and you cannot log in to the copier, submit a service ticket for assistance.
